FAQ Stonefix

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) Stonefix

Why repair loose or hollow tiles?
If a tile sounds hollow or is loose, chances are it will break or crack! With Stonefix, you definitely have a high-quality and durable product to prevent this from happening!

Can you repair a floor if there is floor heating?
This is not a problem. The injection adhesive will not affect the floor heating.
Nor will the temperature of the floor heating affect the curing of the injection adhesive. Nor will the injection adhesive cause the floor heating to malfunction.

Can you use the 2K injection adhesive to reattach parquet/laminate flooring?
Yes, you can. The injection adhesive has such flexibility that it exceeds the action of wood. This means it is certainly possible to reattach parquet and wood with it.
At the same time, the adhesive strength of 2-component injection adhesive is stronger than most adhesives used in the parquet world.

Is it possible to use the 2-component injection adhesive in showers or bathrooms?
Yes, it can. However, it is important that the shower or injection area is dry. If the shower would still be or is wet, you can work with the 2K anti-moisture injection adhesive. These tubes are only produced for professional tilers, contractors and Stonefix-approved repairers.

Can Stonefix 2K injection adhesive damage my tiles?
No, it cannot. However, the 2K injection adhesive may stick to the tile if it is not cleaned properly. Therefore, pay attention to the following when injecting:- When injecting, always clean immediately with a wet cloth or similar.- After injecting, clean with a solvent (acetone or similar) or our Dec 21.
- If any glue did remain somewhere, you can remove it afterwards with Epoxy Residue Remover. This is a very safe alkaline epoxy remover.

Do I need to drill a lot of holes?
No, preferably as few as possible. You certainly shouldn't drill a hole every 10 cm, because then glue will continuously leak from one hole to the next.

Some tips:
Drill an extra hole to let the air escape.
Sometimes it is easiest to drill a hole at all corners of the tiles:
- then you can inject into one hole.- If the resin comes out in another hole, stop at the first hole and continue in the next.
- This way you can be sure that the injection glue is everywhere under the tile.

What else should I pay attention to when drilling a hole?
With the width of the joint. This determines which drill bit to use. If the width is 2 mm. or more, which is in most cases, you can use the drill bit provided.
But if the joint is smaller, definitely do not use it.

Tip: You can buy metal drill bits smaller than 2 mm in most DIY stores.
Make sure you have a drill with a chuck where you can use such narrow drill bits.
